So far I am extremely happy with my final choice of www.ipowerweb.com . The 7x24 phone support is excelent. I called them at 4am estern time and support actually answered the phone. Now all I need to do is get 3 references and next years host costs will be free.

I have been with IpowerWeb for the past two years. All has been fine until recently (June 2004). It seems as if they have just crumbled under their success. I travel exstensively and have had just about a total failure of email for the past 3 weeks. I have contacted technical support at least 5 times on three different subjects (tickets) over the past three weeks and have not once received a call or email back suggesting fixes or solutions. I have chased these issues on various opccasions getting tickets escalated for "immediate attention" by supervisors - still nothing. Something has fallen to pieces at IpowerWeb over the last three or four weeks. Maybe good reviews and winning awards means that their scalability fails due to rapid growth from such publicity. A very unhappy camper looking for another host. Keith Vickery

I had two problems with them. They were solved and I was satisfied.

I called several different web hosting companies and this is the ONLY one that I could actually reach a pleasant, helpful individual. I have only been using for a month, but have not had any problems..only detraction is the fact that you have to pay $10 for Subdomains...But with PHP4, password protected directories, and my own CGI-bin my site development is going strong. Having fun on iPowerWeb.

I am from Barbados in the Caribbean, I never got full help frome the email support, to expensive to call from Barbados there so many spammers using these account that my mail got blocked becasue the mail server is used by spammers and a few other complaints a good service but not for my Business needs maybe they should look at these bad areas to provide better service

I had a script on my server and it didn't worke. So I contacted their technical support, and they fixed everything for me. So awesome!!!! I really appriciate their support!! Never had any real problems with iPowerWeb, fast support responses and cool features. When I signed up with iPowerWeb they offered 150MB and I think 15GB of bandwidth. Now the're offering 1000MB with 40GB. I already got many websites on my account. Now it could be helpful if they can higher the disk amount a little bit. :) But I realy recommend this web hosting company to everyone! Ipowerweb uses the CPanel and I am very happy about that. They are only a very few other Control Panel out there. I've been looking around for a long long while and I coudn't really find a better one.The speed is ok, I have not teste the speed of other hosting comany's like Globat.

As far as hosting, they have great machines, fast upload and download speeds. They offer a greate line of scripts. The pricing is great! The staff are great. The only thing that would cause me to deduct from their rating is that in the last month 2 months, I have had a number of sites down, and email not working for a few companies. I offer hosting to my clients as I am a web designer. I am a little nervous at this point as My whole family counts on my success, and Solid, reliable hosting is at the heart of my being able to offer a good service.

Overall, I am very, very pleased with iPowerweb, and am fortunate I found them simply during an internet search. The customer service is great, the cpanel is an unbelievably handy tool, the 300 e-mail addresses available has been a big hit with my constituents, and the price is right. The only drawback which I have seen from more than one computer is it sometimes takes a few seconds for my low maintenace, low content site to load, even though it has been attempted with only DSL, Cable and T1 connections. Not sure what causes this brief hiccup, but that is my only complaint.

I have found iPowerWeb to be utterly incompetent. While they do reply to problem reports, they do not even seem to read the submissions and all I've gotten mostly is a runaround. Their email systems take HOURS to get emails out and it has been over TEN DAYS NOW of JUST TRYING TO GET BASIC DOMAINS AND EMAIL UP !! I am *hoping* that other reviews of down-time are indications of sparse behavior as I depend heavily upon a RELIABLE host, but indications so far are not positive. Should things improve, I will update here accordingly.
09/03/2004 - rating: 10 - by: Jakks Sevarg
I must say that many of these reviews are misleading. iPowerWeb is the industry leader in support. I get e-mail help replies within 10 minutes or less on business days, and under 1 hour other times. And IF I just don't feel like waiting they have a toll free help line. They give you 1000mb to use. I use alot of video in my site, and it is BIG video. But still, I never have to worry about using all of my space. They also offer 40gb of bandwidth, which again is more than enough for a small business. They also offer 4 mySQL databases and PHP and CGI support. Newer customers will expierience their new iPowerWeb CPanel, which I find much better than the old CPanel that is publically available. They offer subdomains and domain pointers at an extremely low rate. Overall I think this is the best web host currently on the web. I suggest you use them for all of your web hosting needs. At under $99 per year, and all of their services and support, they simply cannot be beaten.

I am a new suscriber to ipower web & here is what has taken place so far. 1] Subscribed to service & was told would receive email with all info **next day still did not receive & called to find out what happened. I then receive info needed. 2] Sent email to receive assitance with transfer of our site (as ipower advertized they would) & never received that assitance. 3] Called & asked for transfer assitance **was routed to voice mail that said they would call within 24 hours to resolve. now 4days later & no call. 4] Tried tec support & was on hold so long I gave up. 5] Cannot access vdeck setup for some reason. ---This is just the start. I write this not to try to "burn" ipower but to highlight the problem with the so called #1 rating they received. Sorry ipower but I'm not to impressed so far.

UPDATE FROM LAST POSTING..... TRIED TEC SUPPORT THIS MORNING AGAIN ---WAITED UP TO AN HOUR ON HOLD. i FINALLY GAVE UP. i STILL CAN NOT ACCESS MY EMAIL OR MY SITE THROUGH FTP. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR IF YOUR CONSIDERING THIS CO ---FORGET IT. i DON'T GET IT--- I READ ALL THE REVIEWS THAT RAVED ABOUT IPOWER AND HERE I GET THIS.

Latest update: Talked to tek support after 25minute wait and I asked why can't I access any email or FTP to my site. Was told that they had changed the host92 to something different (without any notification to me) and that my domain transfer still had not taken place (AFTER 6 DAYS). I asked if they could help me take car of that and was told they could not but would transfer me. After the transfer, again I get the voice mail that says they will return the call within 24 hours. Still no call from the transfer deptartment. I did receive an e-mail from the marketing dept with concerns about my postings here. I have tried my best to tell it like it has happened to me with no inflated additions. I would just like to see for one time someone just deliver what they adveritize. Thats it!

I'm a web designer who has used iPowerWeb for my clients. In the past they have been GREAT. Great features, amazing tech support. But then about a month ago, this went from GREAT to HORRIBLE. They started making changes that they didn't announce, or that they announced after the fact. These were changes that either disrupted service or caused me to have to give my web design clients free troubleshooting time. And now, they just don't answer my tech support queries, much less answer the phone. And it seems my tech support queries I post online don't even get logged. If they fix this up and make amends, I'll recommend them again, but not until then.

If you have a static website, based on HTML only, this is your host. But if you use a database (MySQL) like me, forget about them. I am currently hosted by Ipowerweb, but already looking for a more reliable service. My postnuke site is constantly down. What I get is a MySQL connect error. I was already moved to another server once. It seemed to help for a short time, but my problems are back. The customer support is very slow, you wait close to an hour on the phone (except for billing) and some of the guys are very arrogant. Altogether, not worth it, except for simple web pages.

This really is a great host! I have had my website up since March of this year. I have been burned before on "cheap hosting", but I decided to take a chance (mostly because of the 30 day guarantee). I have been very surprised. The site is always up. It has only even been slow two times that I can remember. I am on it alot because my site is still in development. They have a great help center that is automated. I have been able to get all of my questions answered just by searching their knowledge base. That is impressive. I give them the best rating.

I have 2 domains. Overall happy about the service, speed, etc... BUT the FTP is not working right and WEBMAIL is not functioning like it should. Was first told to find a solution on my end??? Its a web interface, I replyed. You fix it! Then they said: we are aware of problem, programmers will work on it, use outlook...WTH is that anwser??? Am still waiting (2 weeks later). Am I the only one who sees new messages from doamins not hosted by them, in bold all the time (even after a refresh). Both domains have same problems, so I assume someone else has problems...

They have been ok for a while, but now they seems to really gone down in service. I even signed up 4 or 5 of my customers with them as a reseller. I am yet to see any benifits about it. When I inquire about it from Customer Service they passed the ball to Finance. Well financec never gets back to me. I could not see my web stats for a while, when I wrote to support, they did NOT responde for almost a month. Then later-on they claimed that they have "lost" more than a month of my acess logs. I am without any web metrics for most of August and Sept 2003. They say they can not do anything about it is being "lost". I will move out when my annual contract is over as well as with my customers. thumbs down IPowerweb.

I am quite happy with website I designed at iPage. It looks great and only took me a few days with very little web design experience. The big advantage of using this company is their tech support. You get an answer almost within an hour or two to every Email question sent. It was extremely helpful. They taught me how to do thumbnails enlarging into bigger pics. The only down side I would mention is their Vdeck web editor is flawed. You type in stuff, insert pictures etc., save it, and publish and it more often than not, exhibits errors. I was able to go back and fix most of them. In some instances I had to add html tags myself to get the page to look like what I wanted. It was at times frustrating. The program is a bit screwy!! On the whole, for $6 a month it is a great bargain. I'm happy!

Ipowerweb has a serious issue with its second and third shift in technical support. We have been insulted, hung up the phone, not been called back, promised things and then been told that the person who gave the information had no knowledge. Our emails with urgent matters suddenly dissapear from the helpcenter website (i.e. incident number 031029-001759 and 031029-001758. The only person who has followed up on our matter has been Danny Canto (manager of the first shift), but when he is not there, disaster strikes, no one knows what to do and we keep going in circles. How can all of this be possible? We have not slept in 48 hours expecting to have a problem solved, we are tired and we just want a solution to our problem: installing some files which we have provided with simple instructions. The only thing left for our MCSE and the other Computer Engineer is to get on a plane and fix the problem in your server (which will probably only take them 5 minutes to fix). Their problem is not their product but their technical support in the second and third shift.

I was a reseller with over 50 accounts with them, they are very unreliable, do not respond to technical issues that are positively on their site, or due to outages on their end. They have excuses and not solutions, they are plain too big to worry about the resellers, so as a consumer I would say avoid them. I have moved all of my client sites as a result, and they haven`t even inquired as to why. This is because they are aware of their poor follow through, support and just common customer service. It`s sad that they have decreased to this level, but currently and from other reviews I have read around the net they are just not worth the effort.

I've been with IPowerweb for nearly a year now and can say that I haven't had many problems with them in the past. 99.9% of the time the service has worked for me and I've only had to call tech support once (from Australia). However there are a few bad points when looking for that additional value a company would provide its users; 1. Does not provide an ASP interface or option. 2. The web marketing content/web content plugins is non-existant (I tried it) or seldomly updated. 3. No mailing lists. Value for money I would say try this company as I had no problems with entering the www hosting market as it was easy to use.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of the folks behind the scenes at IPowerWeb. I currently have 5 sites hosted through you and could not be happier. I was first referred to your service by the owner of bosykes.com and after some research signed my first client up. The site began as just and email server, with the potential for content. Your team of professionals made the purchase easy! The few questions that were not already answered, I received a prompt reply to.

I have to admit, for only $95 a year, I was skeptical. However, because of the service I received, I signed a second client up with you! Again, I received the same quality of service, quick problem resolution and a problem free setup. The site is due to go live sometime later this month.

With two happy clients, I was able to convince an organization that wasn't considering moving, the value of IPowerWeb. As a result, I saved their organization $1730 over two years. They were getting HTML only, 1 Email address and 4 hours of changes from their webmaster for $80 per month. Wow! Are they impressed! As a result of being able to locate the information quickly and compare apples to apples they decided that moving their site was in the best interest of the organization. Now we are able to position their organization for growth in 2004 with a newly redesigned dynamic website.

I was so pleased with the transfer, I decided it was time for me to move my domain to IPowerWeb from Yahoo. At one point I had called Yahoo regarding problems I was having and was told by their 24-hour tech support that I did not qualify for support for 2 more hours. Apparently my money was not as green as the people paying more than I was. To it all off I did not get half the benefits that I get now! I can communicate with friends and family more efficiently than ever and I am saving several hundred dollars a month.

When my client came to me a few days ago and told me he was ready to move his business to the web, I told him I knew just who he needed to partner with!

Please express my gratitude to each of your employees!! You have done an excellent job in earning my trust and as a result my business now and far into the future.

I look forward to growing these 5 sites with your company and wish you well in 2004. The sites I referred to are pjmorininc.com, globalprincipal.com, crewcleveland.org, adam76.net and deercreekny.com.

Thank you, Adam Oppenheim

Once again iPower Web has come through for me as I continue to assist the technically and website challenged in my area!!

This time around you were able to resolve the confusion which I and my client caused by registering a site online (railwayonline.com) back in October and setting it up to pay by check which the client never sent... then I went and registered the same site for a year on my credit card last week. The confusion was compounded when I never received any confirmation emails because Adelphia's Powerlink email sucks (to be perfectly blunt) and many messages never get to me and vice-versa and no error messages are ever generated - the emails just vaporize apparently... THEN my email account through my personal website hosted by a friend (soon to be transferred to you) goes down because, come to find out, my site and his hosting and email servers were all hacked!! Bottom line is, thanks to you, I accomplished what I set out to do which was have 'Railway's' new site up and running for January 1st!!

Web design is a sideline for me - a hobby as much as anything but when anyone asks me about webhosting I send them to your site. Your prices are ridiculously low and the service top notch and I love the fact that I can call there practically anytime and talk to a human almost immediately!! I have another site in the works and still another on the horizon (not bad for a hobby) and you can bet that they'll be hosted by iPower Web!! I also have a few people paying $20 / month or more for their hosting who are almost convinced to transfer... Thank you for all of your continued help and support!!

Good plan for the price if you do not require technical support. I don't see how they can afford the bill on their toll free number. The minimum wait time is always > 30 minutes. Not a big deal as long as nothing ever goes wrong. But what can go wrong will go wrong. That is where iPowerweb really sucks. I was developing an online database application for a client and the server went down the day after we launched the app. Technicians took 2 days to tell me the problem would be fixed in the next 24 hours. If you run a web design company go with another host. The money you save costs you in the long run. Your business is only as good as the weakest link.

I have 6 domains with IpowerWeb using shared servers. As others have said, nothing is perfect. But also as a professional Oracle DBA and Unix SA for 20 yrs, I expect some level of expertise when problems arise. My experience with IPW is they do not train their tech support. Even at the level 2 (as they call it) they do not use standard procedure to test feature they implement. I run several ecommerce sites and my CURL was completely disabled because they implemented an Apache Mod to limit bandwidth per user. I spent over week bugging them to fix this. I luckily saved off a previous copy of their config file and found the new mod in the current httpd.conf after comparing. I had to point to the problem. They could not find it, because they do not stage and test, but just slame in changes and let the customer complain. I now have tried the dedicated server solution as I have clients I support also. They use PLESK as a control panel. After purchasing the solution of 1 year contract, they don`t even put a complete install of the product. I bug bug bug them and they finally say they don`t have a licensed copy. I have waited 2 weeks with a temp lic version and my client needs to roll out in one month on this server. I would not recomend IpowerWeb because they are non-responsive and amature.

I do not recommend this service provider for medium size companies. IPowerweb seems to work well with really small companies and organizations. IPower does advertise customer service 24/7. However, the hold time to speak with a staff member is horrible. I have been on hold as long as 50 minutes. I was livid. Staff is great at working with small common problems. However, major problems that require some detail and expertise are not handled well. Staff has a jovial and non-chalant attitude. Most importantly, Staff does not have a sense of urgency about anything. It can take up to 2 weeks to get emails answers (when they are answered). Staff often incorrectly diagnose problems which cost time and money.
At first, I was happy with the level of service I received. However, as time went on, I became increasingly frustrated and ultimately I decided to cancel all of my accounts with this service. I am a small/medium size business owner with over 1000 hits a week. 99% of my business is conducted online and I can't even begin to explain how many customers I ultimately lost because of IPowerweb.

Generic auto responders are not customer service! I have been dealing with major problems with iPower for more than a month. I have spoken with four "Customer Service" agents that don`t have a clue. And to top it all off, this morning I received an iPowerWeb Customer Service Survey, thanking me for contacting them and, "It appears that you recently had an interaction with our support technician...would you please take a moment and answer a brief survey?" “Your valuable feed will be used to ensure that iPowerWeb maintains its high quality standards." Needless to say, I didn`t have the time to fill out the "survey" because I am too busy trying to find out from iPowerWeb why I have had multiple problems in the first place. To this day, I have not gotten a response other than a generic auto response stating, "We apologize for the inconvenience. It will be resolved soon." When I go to your competitor probably!!! No 100 Best Award needed for iPower this year!!!

Ipowerweb has the worst customer support I have ever gotten from any company by far. They terminated my website xyzworks.com with no email telling me it was going down or why. So customers going to our site to place orders just see a `Your account has been suspended message`. The support department has no answers, they send you to their abuse department which is clearly overloaded, the only contact with them is by email. The only info I can get from them after 8 days and 15 emails, is it was a Spamcop report which they won`t show me. I am clearly not spamming and can prove it easily, but that makes no difference, there is no chance to even make that point. This has cost me thousands of dollars of work in switching to a new hosting company and rebuilding our website, and loss of business due to our website and online store being down for several days while I worked on getting another hosting co working. And they didn`t even give me access to the files I need from the site until 8 days later!

Ipower is the greatest. I`ve ben with them almost 2 years and have never noticed a time when my site was unavailable. I can`t evaluate the support staff because I never needed them. Complaints about support that I read here seem to be from people who have very limited knowledge of networking and website managing. If you don`t possess the skills of a webmaster maybe you shouldn`t have a website.

I have been a customer of IPOWER for about 2 years now. A few months back, something happened and the Webalizer stopped working. I have talked to IPower customer service reps and customer service managers at least 7 times. Each time they assure me that the service will start working tomorrow. It still does not work. They are simply not able to fix this simple problem caused by themselves. 9/19/2004

iPower is great when it's up. Which it often isn't. Weekends seem to be the worst. Our school is hosted by them and I am ready to take a up collection to switch to another company. Our children and their parents complain that they can't access our pages. I can't access them either. I can understand there are times when in the cases of virus attacks they will be down but this is happening too frequently. I wonder if they are ill equipped to handle a large volume of users. I would rather pay them more to get reliable service than affordable non-reliable service.

so far, I registered a domain and a web host plan. The on-line registration didn't like the way I entered my phone#. Instead of validating it, they accept my credit card, and didn't register the domain. and they didn't let me know or correct it until I called. Lesson#1 iPOwer, learn how to validate your forms.

Using ipowerweb is find as long as you don't have problems. I found their support to be very lacking and incompetent. The communication between the service techs working there is nonexistent. As a problem is escalated to a higher level, days can go by before you hear from anyone. And when you finally do talk to a higher level tech you must start from scratch in talking about what the problem is. Very frustrating.

Recently I lost three days work on Ipowerweb. I was told during a helpdesk call that this was due to a hacker accessing one of their servers. I lost quite a bit of development work on my site and several crucial emails that I had to present to potential clients. When I tried frantically to get them to back this up for me 24 hours prior to my presentation, I was told that emails were not backed up(!) and that I would have to pay $50 to obtain a backup of my website development!! Later, I noticed that the web statistics software was not accurately reflecting the number of hits I had. I had a log using my own software that verified 30,000+ hits over a fortnight period. What Ipower's third party software showed was laughable. Also, despite much correspondence over the above matters, I felt that they were not in the least helpful or sympathetic to my emergency, which their lack of security caused me. So I would not reccommend their service.

They had good hosting, or so i thought, i was with them for 2 years, the first server i had bumbed out and i had to move all my files, then i switched over to help them with their new control panel, a year or so went buy and now i am sitting here, it has been 36 hours of downtime on this server and all the tech support has told me since the first hour is that it will be up soon. Do not go with iPowerWeb, they have horrible support, they only turn you to a diffrent department each time you ask them something. And they have horrible uptime.

I currently have 4 websites hosted on iPower servers, and must say their tech support is very lacking. Price wise they are a great bargain, but when you have a real issue, such as mail being relayed through your site, they provide little assistance. I recently have been advised that I am sending too much email, but when asked what email account is sending it, where some are going, what it is, etc they are unable to give me any information. I am definitely not happy with them.

If you want to wait for long periods of time on the phone, and not receive satisfactory replies to emails requests, get an IPowerweb hosting plan. Last night at 7:45 PM (PST) I waited for 40 minutes while this occasional recording stated "we at Ipowerweb value your business" and noone ever answered the phone. Now my ISP is blocking any attempts to use my website email accounts. I manage several different websites for family, friends, my church and a few businesses in our area and I am very unhappy. I have been moving all my accounts over to BlueHost. They are on the ball!

Sorry guys but this company plain sux as it stands their tech support are complete monkeys. With only about 2 people there who give a @#$% im suprised that anyone would ever stay with them. By the way i had the dedicated setup with outdated software and php. Performance was not that good in fact ive come across better shared hosting in terms of speed. SO do not bother if there is a problem you will want to take a chill pill before hand and get your money back ASAP. To top it all off they actually deleted my entire site without any warning not even an email just to let you know. Final rating first 30 days 5 star after that 1 star Support 0 star Billing department - monkeys Paid them more then needed yet they did nothing to pay me back. So theres my 2 cents. Ps if they give you crap about they cannot accept your visa card they will want you to wire transfer and they will charge you even more. DOnt bother

Horrible. I hosted a non-profit here for six months and was very unhappy. Technical support was rude and refused to return phone calls. Customer service was nearly non-existent. After repeated attempts to do something as basic as change a password when I mysteriously was unable to access my site, I finally found someone in customer service to assist me. Technical support didn't seem to care about my access and did nothing to resolve the problem. After weeks of frustration, customer service finally stepped in and helped. The end result was my demanding a refund and I moved my data to Hypermart. Buyer beware.

Having pulled 9 sites last year from iPowerWeb over to Lunarpages due to lack of support, a leading manager contacted me personally and promised things were changing, as they are hiring new staff, and to give them another try. So I did. I currently have 7 new sites with iPowerWeb. Just went to register another site for a year and noticed it takes more than a day to get the login and account setup information. I also requested for an account change and it has been three (3!) days since I've seen anything. I just threatened to pull my 7 sites over to Lunarpages again and got a mail (out of the blue) saying they are looking into this matter - the excuse being a backlog and they are hiring new staff. Gee this sounds familiar... Right...so long iPowerWeb, you may have the best package or servers on paper, but your service sucks lemons.

Cons: 1. The worst customer support I have ever delt with (including verizon - for those that have had this misfortune). 2. Uptime is shaky..sometimes great response time and a few minutes later you can't find the host. Pros: Great features and technology and easy to use control panel. Overall: The featuers aren't worth the support and uptime issues...keep looking (I've heard good things about lunarpages.

Tech support is horrible, slow, and rude. Unknown charges to my credit card. 30+ minute phone wait then cutoff, more than one time. Uptime is unreliable and email is continuously down without any explanation other than `we are sorry for the incontinence`. Also they changed rates and started charging for things like sub domains and email forwarding without telling you. All-in-all not worth the headache, and they are the cheapest, for what you really get!
